Event Description The second annual World Music Drum Festival will feature ground-breaking percussionists who explore with audiences a world of sound in instruments of all timbres, tones, and sizes, with unrivalled showmanship and an adventurous soul! A co-produced event between the Virginia Arts Festival and Beachevents, the World Music Drum Festival features virtuoso international percussion ensembles showcasing a range of cultural genres including jazz, rock, world (Afro-Cuban), African, Kodo, American Indian, and classical. An open-to-the-public drum circle on the beach, drumline displays by college bands, and performances by the young drummers of the Virginia Art Festival’s Rhythm Project will round out the event. All performances are free to the public.
